Going on a hike, you need to be sure that your equipment will not let you down, and therefore the day before the hike you should give your bike a little inspection.
Despite this, unfortunately, sometimes unpleasant things happen on the road. The most common of them are punctures in the camera. Punctures in advance it is impossible to foresee, so they are an inevitable companion of all cyclists.
To deal with punctures is recommended to take a spare camera (preferably two), bicycle first aid kit with tire irons and a pump that will allow you to make repairs on their own, without the help of others. By the way, professionals strongly recommend that before reassembling the wheel, the elimination of the puncture, check whether a piece of glass or a nail left in the tire, which led to the puncture. The method of such a check is as follows: you must gently probe the inside of the tire with your fingers and remove any possible causes of the puncture.
In addition, it is recommended to carry a set of keys, allowing you to make a small adjustment of the bicycle equipment.
For currently common mountain bikes, such a set is a set of hexes. A compact “penknife” type set is usually used.
Do not neglect the medicines – at least one person in the group should be with a minimum medical kit, which should include the most necessary first aid and medicine. These include sterile bandages, absorbent cotton, adhesive tape, rubber bandage, iodine or green, hydrogen peroxide, aspirin, rubbing alcohol, Validol, ammonia, scissors.
The most common injuries that occur when riding a bicycle are bruises, sprains, concussions, and fractures. While the first two are relatively safe, concussions and fractures cause a lot of trouble, primarily to the victim himself.
To avoid these troubles, be careful and attentive. Keep your distance (it is very common for novice cyclists to keep their distance either poorly or incorrectly, resulting in frequent collisions and falls). Learn from more experienced riders how to ride on difficult sections of road (especially downhill). When driving try to calculate the development of the situation, do not be afraid to seem too careful. This will save you from very serious trouble.
And, of course, do not neglect personal protective equipment, which first of all includes a helmet.
